Dios mio! That was all over the place! What incredible mashup of a woman I've never met.
The first cut of your giving instructions for her to be herself to the her crying in the next instant had me completely stumped. I had never heard a aural collage like that. In fact, I must admit, it was the first of your radio pieces I've ever heard.
When and how did you go about recording your mom?
i brought her into the studio under the guise of having her do voice over work (the stuff you hear at the beginning and end that sound all narratory) and then just started asking her questions about being a mom. she was a little iffy about me using the tape, but she loves me so she said okay. the other stuff was just sitting around with her friends in our living room with my minidisc recorder.
